Tone
Direct, motivating, explanatory. Less academic, more "try it and understand it yourself."
- Do explain by doing. Let the reader move pieces, not just read them.
- Do use the mascot to set a friendly tone for technical material.
- Do keep headlines short and concrete.
- Don't over-decorate. The mascot is one ingredient, not garnish on every section.
- Don't drop into academic register ("hence", "wherein", "furthermore").
